Guess what!

After five years I have finished the embroidery on the linen polonaise. I can’t say that I have worked on it constantly, which is why I haven’t finished sooner.

In case you have missed previous posts this gown is a not very exact copy of this one:

It’s a gown analyzed in Kvinnligt mode and there wasn’t that many good pictures of the embroidery design, which is why my gown has embroidery which is a close approximation. Other differences are that mine is grey and not white (for practical purposes) and is embroidered with linen thread, while I have used both linen and cotton.

Now I just hope that my pattern pieces aren’t too small. I was thinner five years ago… If worse come to worse I can make a stomacher and lace the front over it, instead of lacing it shut. I’m not done with the embroidery, though. The petticoat isn’t finished. It’s sewn together, so I can wear it, or I can make a blue petticoat to wear until the grey one is done. This feels very much like a gown for summer, so I’m not in a real hurry to sew it together.

Den ser väldigt fin ut! Nu är det bara att vänta på att du syr ihop den, så att vi får se den på.

Jag tycker om att brodera, det är faktiskt rätt avslappnande. Håller på med min mamams fickor just nu.
