I'm not quite sure about the giant muff, but I do love the coat. What do you think about the collar? My interpretation is that it's sewn to the coat down to the waist and then it's hanging free.

But the coat is very elegant and would totally work for formal today's wear too (I'm thinking gala premier or something :) ). Soie=silk, right?
LOL. I think I'll make a muff that is a bit more modest. Yes, soie is silk, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a particular kind

If you can remove the collar, then the coat will be useful in spring and autumn too! And then the muff... it looks like something Carl-Håkan cover his beehives in for the winter...
